There are no Hanukkah candles in Rockford.

I knew I should have picked some up when we where in Chicago a couple of weekends ago. I know there are Jews in this town as there is at least one synagogue but no Hanukkah candles in any of the three stores I've tried.

Maybe I cursed myself by not digging out either of my menorahs first. Or contemplating making latkes using a mix instead of real potatoes. Deep frying stuff scares me anyways.

What yoiu need (if you have one within a reasonable distance is a Bed Bath and Beyond. Because they sell menorahs, they also sell candles.

And yes, using a latke mix is a sin against God and everyone else.
