Summer vacation plans

I need to get out of this godfarsaken town sometime this summer. But where to go?

I'm kinda thinking of driving to Rochester, MI to see Patty Griffin, Buddy Miller, Emmylou Harris and Gillian Welch in late August since that tour refuses to come to Chicago. But I would also like to get out of the Midwest too.

Any ideas?

Why not drive up into Canada? Head to one of those remote countryside places, where the currency spends easily and the hiking is everywhere.
