Writer's Block: Eat, Drink, Be Merry

  • Canned cranberry sauce is a travesty. If I make can the recipe on the back, so can you.

  • I also don't understand putting marshmallows on sweet potatoes. Sweet potatoes are just fine with some butter and brown sugar.

  • I also could live without the green bean casserole. Overcooked green beans with deep fried onions. Pass.

There's no need for me to answer this when your responses match mine :D we'd do just fine at the table together! All three of those things are travesties.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

Agreed. My cranberry sauce recipe involves pineapple juice, pine nuts, pineapple bits, cloves, and a touch of brandy. Sometimes I add fennel or ginger or cardamom for extra kick!

Oh, but the canned stuff is so much better than homemade! Don't take my canned stuff away... ;)

But of course I agree wholeheartedly about the marshmallows and greenbean casserole (which has never, to the best of my knowledge, appeared on our family's thanksgiving table).

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. (Even if you are deprived of the canned red stuff :)

Green bean casserole is disgusting, of course. As is anything that has a mushroom soup base.

It's like the Hoosier State Food, though...if they could deep fry it, half the state would immediately die of pure bliss.

Actually, I agree with all three of your choices.
