Family Stone. Waaay better than I expected. Craig T. Nelson has moved faaar beyond "Coach." An excellent ensemble cast.
Brokeback Mountain. Not just a "gay cowboy" movie. :) Who knew Heath Ledger has a soul. Jake Gyllenhaul is his usual excellent self and the soundtrack is *amazing."
Books:
Don't Get Too Comfortable by David Rakoff. Rakoff is a contributor to "This American Life" and a very funny man.
Giant's House by Elizabeth McCracken. The best book ever about a librarian who falls in love with a giant. Okay maybe it's the only one but a brilliant, heartbreaking love story it is indeed!
