I "wimped out" and went to bed after the 11th inning at 12:15ish. Kudos to anyone who made it to the end. Kudos to Geoff Blum.



No kudos to Astros manager Phil Garner who made his team feel even worse after the game. Can Donald Trump just go ahead and fire Garner now?

They're not babies...most of them are millionaires who are pretty tough. And everything he said was true. You would not want players who said, "Phil, you are so unfair!"

News: Even without the calls going their way, the White Sox have played better than everyone. The margin of superiority is great (only lost one game in the post-season, with assistance.)

Phil Garner played for the Dodgers briefly. He was a smart badass. He would never cry over stuff, but he would get angry. I wish the Dodgers would get him to manage. But then, he would never be a yes man, which is what they seek.

Phil Jackson and Pat Riley called out guys publicly many times. They've won something like twelve NBA titles between them. And then there was Billy Martin who won with the Yankees. Great teams love to win. When they lose not much can make them feel better. You don't want anything like A-Rod's mom calling out the reporters for noticing that her son was lousy in the DCS against the Angels.

On the other side, there's Mike Scoscia. And maybe Dick Vermeil. He cries.

I heard something on the radio about how the Cubs fans are supposed to be hostile to Sox fans. And vice versa. Anything in that?
