Gateway Locksmith is evil!
Apr. 17th, 2005 01:31 pmGateway Locksmith: Do not try to do business with them. Trust me. I broke my key at the gas station yesterday on the way to meet
bona and called them (they have the biggest ad in the yellow pages). "30-45 minutes" They said. 2 1/2 hours later the dispatcher was yelling at me and I ended up calling another locksmith who got there in 20 minutes.
2nd locksmith said they operate out of 15 or so states and use subcontractors to service their customers. I.E. they don't have enough people to do the work. Now if Gateway told me it would be at least 3 hours I wouldn't have been as upset. But no.
2nd locksmith guy recommended I call the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation to report them as the IDPR has been trying to put them out of business. I will do so first thing tomorrow morning.

Date: 2005-06-01 04:34 am (UTC)I should note that one of my co-workers had the same experience. Also that the locksmith who DID show up said that Gateway had an awful reputation.
Plus it's just funny that you're just NOW finding this post.
